The Happiest Teacher

Updated: Feb 22, 2019

An International Life, and a smile, no matter what

Welcome to the first blog post! Aren't you lucky? Yep! You've found it, the diary of an un-angry teacher. We are few and far between, but I hope that if I do my job well here, you can join our ranks, or just get a break from the negativity that often comes along with this job.

My Promise: To stay positive about my kids, my school, and my career. To appreciate the beauty that comes with making the world a little better each day by helping kids. To be a place for people to go when they need a breath of positive sanity in our hectic world.

I have to confess, though, I haven't always been the Happiest Teacher. I've taught at 6 schools in 5 countries, and they have been a grab bag of weird, frustrating, and joyful. I've tried to smile through it all, to focus on the benefits of each situation, and avoid the all-too-common staff room sessions of moaning, with varying levels of success.

I don't have it all figured out. I'm still relatively young-ish, and I learn incredible amounts every year; about teaching, about life, about people, and I hope to do that until I die.

I hope you'll come with me on this journey. I hope it can make you smile.
